Our Philosophy
The role of the young child is to grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. Children learn by doing, touching, tasting, hearing, smelling and seeing things that are interesting to them. With this in mind, Shomrei Torah Synagogue's Early Childhood Center (STS ECC) provides activities and experiences that are concrete and relevant to children's lives. Our school believes in an emergent curriculum that grows along with the child’s physical, social, emotional and academic needs. We see each child as an individual and important part of our school community. They are fostered to take responsibility for their friends, the environment and themselves. STS children are given a secure and nurturing space to grow and become vital members of the community.
Judaic Curriculum
Our children are introduced to Jewish living through the symbols and stories of the Jewish holidays. The Jewish calendar provides an endless variety of songs, food, fragrances and ritual objects, which create wonderful learning opportunities.
