Welcome to the Shomrei Torah Synagogue HaKehilah School!
Our innovative program utilizes multiple learning styles and modalities and provides Jewish learning and living in a variety of environments, such as camp, classrooms, kitchen and stage.
At the heart of our program is the HaKehilah Core Curriculum in which Project Based Learning is a key component. Students in each grade are empowered to engage in projects and fun activities throughout the school year. In addition to our core curriculum, students benefit from the opportunity to deepen friendships through experiencing Judaism in real time during our excursion days and Shabbat retreats.
Students in HaKehilah learn about Jewish tradition, Israeli culture, Torah stories, holidays, customs, and more! All classes are taught in Hebrew only. Students will be interviewed by HaKehilah Director Sharon Furman-Lee who will determine if the child meets this requirement. HaKehilah School is another way to instill Hebrew language skills as well as keeping our children connected to Israeli culture and traditions.
Here is a list of the current forms you can download and print for this year's program. Please complete, sign, and return them to the HaKehilah Office or contact Sharon Furman-Lee at sfurman-lee@stsonline.org. To reach the Office by phone, call 818-854-7690.
